We are a small farm located right in the middle of horse country. Located only 35 miles from Lexington, KY, home of Keeneland Race Track and many Thoroughbred horse farms.

The farm is home to Quarter Horses, Miniature Donkeys, Miniature Horses, Shetland Ponies, along with our pet dogs and cats. the show career started with one Quarter Horse and now has taken off with the Miniature Horses.

High Mountain received it's farm name simply to honor Donna's parents, Donald and Gretchen Anderson. High Mountain came from the Vince Gill song "Go Rest High On The Mountain", which was played at both funerals. This is the way to keep them in our hearts always. Billy II even rides with a plate on his saddle that reads
"Riding In Memory Of Mamaw and Papaw"

My love of horses started very young in life-at age 2, I owned 5 ponies already. I had at least one horse/pony all my life until 1989. At that point I got married to Billy, sold my last horse and moved to a small town in Kentucky with my “city boy” husband. He had absolutely no interest in horses or anything “country”. It took me 14 years, but we finally bought our six acres of heaven and things have grown from there.

We started with a Quarter Horse that our son, Billy II, showed in Western Pleasure. We knew absolutely nothing about showing, but fortunately Clue was one of those once-in-a -lifetime horses that taught us all about it! Unfortunately, we lost her in the winter of 2008, but she had done her job. The bug and love of showing had been planted. See her on our Memorial Page. We then started showing 2 other Quarter Horses, Chase and Skippy. Both of these boys have now been leased to 4-H kids to show.

Billy II and I showed the Quarter Horses and Billy I was our main groom and chauffeur, but he wouldn’t show them. The family was introduced to miniatures a County Fair in 2003. I bought our first two minis early in 2004 for Billy as an anniversary present. From those 2 AMHA halter horses, we have grown to several AMHR miniature horses and ASPC/ASPR Shetlands, that are shown in halter but mostly in performance classes. Driving is Billy’s favorite thing to do now. The “city boy” husband has turned in to a 100 % horse guy.

Our daughter-in-law has had lots of success showing with us. Now there are two beautiful grand daughters Briley Jade and Baylin Rayn, who hopefully one day will join in the fun.
